A national gathering connecting Mauritanians at home and abroad, strengthening the role of diaspora communities and talent in building the nation’s future.

Shared roots. A common horizon.
Three days of connection and dialogue. A future we build together.
In implementation of the high instructions of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, and in fulfilment of his commitment to strengthening the bond between the homeland and its diaspora communities abroad, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad announces the organisation of the Mauritanian Diasporas Forum on 29, 30 and 31 October 2026 in the capital, Nouakchott.
The Forum aims to establish the diaspora communities as partners in development and to strengthen their contribution to building the nation, through constructive discussions and thematic workshops bringing together diaspora representatives, official bodies and the private sector.
This national event lays a new foundation stone in the policy of openness and consultation, and reflects the care the State devotes to its citizens abroad as an active extension of the homeland.

The Forum aims to create a platform for communication and exchange between the Mauritanian state and its diaspora worldwide, through an open dialogue that addresses their various interests and aspirations and works to develop suitable solutions to the challenges they face, in order to bind them more closely to the homeland and encourage their contribution to its development and progress.
